How To Instantly Increase Productivity Throughout Your Day.

Do you ever look at someone else’s life and say, “dang they must have more hours in the day than I do.” Do those other people seem to be more productive than you are? Today I’m going to teach you how to increase your own productivity.

Whatever it is that made you realize you need to become more productive, you’ve found the right place. Let’s get shit done.

How do you become more productive?

I’m just gonna get straight to it. These other people that you see have the same 24 hours in a day that you do. But the difference is the self discipline they have learned. They have a no excuse attitude.

Discipline is a vital part of life. It’s so important for our children to have discipline and structure early on because these habits increase productivity as an adult.

Not too long ago I was reading a post about the differences of discipline and punishment on a motherhood blog. It talked about how discipline focuses the child on controlling his behavior.

Do you see how having discipline as an adult would lead to increased productivity?

If you want to master your day, master your morning. Self discipline is the key to unlocking your full potential. Make a choise of how you want to start your day and follow through. This is a way to create massive momentum

Ok but how do I discipline myself?

Well, positive reinforcements to start. Take it easy on yourself. You don’t have to shame yourself every time you fall behind. Shit happens, we fall behind. And plus, teaching an old dog new tricks takes time.

Think of what you want to accomplish. Is it to lose 10 pounds? Is it to get that blog up and running? Or is it to get your house back in order?

Whatever your goals are, if you really want it, implementing self discipline won’t be hard.

Some of the ways I practice self discipline:

You want that second cup of coffee? You can’t have it until you drink a glass of water first. (Because I definitely need more water in my life)

You want to work on your blog but the dishes need to be done? Well you can’t work on your blog until those dishes are done.

If you really want to accomplish something, you need to have a major self talk. You need to decide right here and right now that change is happening.

You need to decide to become more disciplined and stick to your plans.

Motivation will come and go.

That is why self discipline is so important. Nobody is motivated every single day. But when it comes to reaching goals, consistency is what counts.

You have to be disciplined enough so that even on those blah feeling days, you still take some sort of action towards your goal.

I personally have become a little attached, ok obsessed, with my blog. It’s my pride and joy. Because of that, my house work has been falling behind.

I’ve been spending all my free time working on my blog rather than cleaning the house like I normally would be.

When I realized I was doing that, I told myself not anymore.

Every single day before I can sit down to work on my project, I have to make sure the dishes are done. At least the dishes because we all know how quickly those can get backed up.

Priorities must stay important.

I actually took the whole morning off today to give my house a good deep clean. I decided that since I’ve been slacking in the housework department (but thriving on the blog), I was going to get all the major deep cleaning done today before I could dive into working.

You can read more of my deep cleaning tips for your kitchen here.

Today I focused on both bathrooms, the kitchen, and getting at least one load of laundry done. I successfully completed those tasks so now I could finally sit down and work on this post.

But then in the middle of writing this post, I ended up FaceTiming with my sister for 38 minutes. Self discipline is important but remember that priorities are also important.

My sister and I have busy schedules that don’t always coordinate so I take advantage of those phone chats when I can. It’s all about choosing to balance what makes you happy in life.

It also helps if you have a planner to write down tasks that need to be completed in order to accomplish your goals. Getting that long list of “to dos” down on paper will help tremendously.

So whenever you get off track and spend 38 minutes on FaceTime, you can grab your to do list and remember where you were.

And having a planner to keep it all organized will definitely increase productivity and minimize forgetfulness. This planner here is one of my favs. You can choose different colors/patterns with cute sayings on the front cover.

Motivation will come and go. That’s why self discipline is so important

You can increase productivity and live a more positive life.

Self discipline takes hard work and practice. So remember to take it easy on yourself and keep working at it. But be tough. Don’t let yourself slack intentionally.

Work on changing your mindset around to be more structured and positive. If you choose to have self discipline and set goals for yourself, you will increase productivity and positivity.

An increase in productivity will help you achieve your goals.

To end this post off, I want to help you start that increase in productivity.

If you don’t know where to start, schedule in a phone free hour. That means put your phone down, get off social media, stop the scrolling, and see what you can do in an hour. I talked a little bit about this in my blog about how to simplify life.

For now, that’s it on how to increase productivity. If you enjoyed these tips, be sure to share the motivation to Pinterest.
